US President Donald Trump has once again brought up tariffs on the European Union! No one at this party is sitting still! The White House seems ready to slap extra duties on European imports. Now, the entire eurozone is on edge! No one knows what will happen next.
According to Trump, the Europeans are taking advantage of the US, so America should impose additional tariffs on EU imports. The president insists this will definitely happen and very soon. The Trump administration estimates that the US trade deficit with the EU exceeds $300–350 billion. Meanwhile, European countries refuse to buy American cars and agricultural products, while the US buys everything from the EU. Trump finds this strategy unacceptable.
On top of that, the president criticized the UK's trade policies but added that he could work things out since he has good relations with the British government.
Earlier, Germany’s Vice Chancellor and Economy Minister Robert Habeck (from the Green Party) announced that European nations are ready to impose tariffs on the US if Trump taxes European goods. According to Habeck, the EU cannot allow itself to be pushed around and bossed around.
