In China, electricity consumption increased by 6.3% in January-June compared to the same period a year earlier, the National Energy Administration (NEA) of China said. According to experts, this factor is among the leading ones in assessing economic activity in the country.
As a result, the electricity demand in China reached 2.95 trillion kWh. Last month, it rose by 6.5% to 524.4 billion kWh from the same period a year before.
Power consumption in the Chinese industry rose by 5.4%, while in the services sector it advanced by 11.1% and by 11% in the agricultural sector, the state news agency Xinhua said.
