In the past few months, the battle for the title of the wealthiest person in the world has narrowed to only two participants. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk keep overtaking each other in this constant race. Notably, Jeff Bezos has been a long-standing leader on the list of the world’s richest people. However, Elon Musk managed to surpass Bezos at one point and stayed at the top for more than a month for the first time. Yet, the Amazon founder has recently reclaimed the title of the world’s richest man. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Jeff Bezos’ net worth amounts to $191 billion, while Musk’s wealth is measured at $190 billion. Although the difference seems relatively small, it was enough for Bezos to regain the top spot. The billionaire has recently announced his decision to step down as Amazon CEO and become the executive chair of the company's board. He will still supervise some important Amazon projects including the Bezos Earth Fund, the Bezos Day One Fund, and the Blue Origin spaceship company, the Washington Post reports. Meanwhile, Microsoft founder Bill Gates ranks third on the list with his $137 billion wealth. He is followed by LVMH Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault ($115 billion) and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg ($104 billion).
