Elon Musk can be rightfully called a fearless conqueror of unexplored territories. Firstly, he decided to launch a mission to Mars. Now, he wants Tesla to enter the Russian market. It seems that nothing can stop his adventurous soul.
Tesla and SpaceX CEO made an online appearance in Russia’s New Knowledge forum where he raised the prospect of Tesla coming to the Russian and CIS markets in the near future. The entrepreneur also said that the company was considering opening a factory in Russia.
“I think we’re close to establishing a Tesla presence in Russia, and that would be great. And more broadly, also in Kazakhstan and neighboring regions. It’s important for us to support Tesla supporters like yourself,” Musk proclaimed.
Tesla’s full-scale factories are currently located in the United States (the vehicle factory in California, battery plant in Nevada, and a new facility under construction in Texas) and China. The company is also building a manufacturing plant in Germany. In the Netherlands, Tesla has an assembly plant where the automaker produces electric vehicles from parts made in the US factory. Tesla has stores in the United States, Mexico, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Portugal, the UAE, China, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. In Russia, the company does not have a sales office but sells electric cars through another importing company.
