A survey made by Grayscale Investments revealed that 26% of investors in the US already own bitcoin. What is more, 55% of respondents said they had invested in bitcoin over the last 12 months. The survey showed that 77% of participants view BTC as “digital gold” and a promising asset to invest in. Some bitcoin owners stated they preferred digital currencies to fiat money. 37% of investors hope to gain profit from the digital asset in less than a year, while 55% see bitcoin as a long-term investment opportunity. According to the report, 20% of American investors use BTC as a means of payment, with 14% involved in money transfers. The study found that 91% of those who traded for gains sold at least some of their crypto assets with a profit. Besides, there has been a considerable shift in the way people acquire bitcoin. In 2021, 59% of respondents preferred to invest via crypto trading apps, while last year, 77% favored crypto exchanges.
