In yet another attempt to tackle galloping inflation, US President Joe Biden has called upon American companies to take prompt actions. By doing this, he has sparked a vivid reaction from Jeff Bezos. The founder of Amazon criticized Biden’s remarks on inflation and fuel prices, which the US leader had made in early July. Earlier, the US president demanded that companies running gasoline stations reduce prices at the pump immediately due to the ongoing “time of war and global peril.”
“Inflation is far too important a problem for the White House to keep making statements like this. It’s either straight ahead misdirection or a deep misunderstanding of basic market dynamics,” Bezos posted on Twitter in response.
Biden’s remarks attracted criticism from other US Twitter users as well, with one of them mockingly stating that a polite request by the most powerful person in the world would do more to resolve the situation than any legislation.
