U.S. consumer confidence index for June is due at 10:00 am ET Tuesday. Ahead of the data, the greenback climbed against its major rivals.
The greenback was worth 1.0534 against the euro, 1.2217 against the pound, 0.9575 against the franc and 136.26 against the yen at 9:55 am ET.
