Lockheed Martin, commonly known by its stock ticker LMT, has announced that they are stepping up the production of high-demand systems such as HIMARS, Javelin, GMLRS, and PAC-3. Aiming to boost speed, flexibility, and nimbleness in their manufacturing methods, the company is incorporating the latest digital technologies. This includes the use of automation and robots, factory simulation, and significant investments in the procurement of necessary components that span a long time frame in order to slash the duration of missile production and enhance capacity.
Frank St. John, the Chief Operating Officer at Lockheed Martin, added: "By 2024, we are planning to double the production of HIMARS. We have also augmented the production of Javelin up to 2,400 units annually, and we anticipate the delivery of more than 10,000 units of GMLRS."
