Boeing and LATAM Airlines Group have announced an order for 10 new 787 Dreamliners, with an option to acquire an additional five aircraft. Currently, LATAM operates 37 aircraft within the 787-8 and 787-9 categories and, factoring in this order, plans to expand its Dreamliner fleet to a total of 52 by the year 2030.
"The Boeing 787 offers us enhanced efficiency, enabling sustainable growth while minimizing our carbon footprint as our operations expand. With this order, we will be receiving at least two of these aircraft annually from 2025 through the decade's end," stated Ramiro Alfonsín, Chief Financial Officer of LATAM Airlines Group.
