Stryker Corporation (SYK) reported a decline in its fourth-quarter profit compared to the previous year, although the results exceeded Wall Street forecasts.
The company's net earnings amounted to $546 million, or $1.41 per share, down from $1.143 billion, or $2.98 per share, recorded in the same quarter last year.
On an adjusted basis, excluding specific items, Stryker disclosed earnings of $1.55 billion, or $4.01 per share, for the quarter.
Analysts had anticipated earnings of approximately $3.87 per share, with their estimates typically not accounting for special items.
During the same period, Stryker's revenue increased by 10.7%, reaching $6.436 billion compared to last year's $5.815 billion.
