In February 2025, Spain's retail sales witnessed a significant year-on-year increase of 3.6%, following an upward revision of the previous month's growth to 2.3%. Growth in sales of non-food items experienced a notable surge, climbing by 4.8% compared to January's 2.2%. Meanwhile, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco maintained a strong momentum, rising by 2.9% after January’s 3% increase. When adjusted for seasonal variations, the monthly retail trade saw an increase of 1.3% in February, recovering from a revised 1.2% decline in the prior month. Reviewing the first two months of 2025, retail sales showed a 3% increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
