In February 2025, Malaysia experienced a decrease in its unemployment rate, dropping to 3.1% from 3.3% recorded in the same month the previous year. This rate remained consistent for the third consecutive month, maintaining its lowest point since May 2015. The number of unemployed individuals decreased by 4.3% compared to the previous year, reaching a five-month low of 532,800. Concurrently, employment figures rose by 2.6%, totaling 16.73 million. Additionally, the labor force participation rate climbed to a peak of 70.7%, compared to 70.5% in the same month of the previous year.
