In March 2025, the Czech Republic saw a significant surge in construction output, increasing by 12.1% compared to the same month the previous year. This rebound, marking the strongest growth in construction activity since March 2022, follows a modest 0.9% rise in February. The robust performance was primarily driven by substantial gains in civil engineering output, which soared by 16.2% from February's 1.3%, and building construction, which increased by 10.4% up from 0.7%. Meanwhile, the value of construction projects receiving building permits in March amounted to CZK 41.2 billion, a notable 37.2% decline from the prior year. Furthermore, the construction of 3,137 new dwellings commenced during the month. On a month-to-month basis, construction activity grew by 3.5% in March 2025, recovering from a 0.6% decrease in February.
