In April 2025, Pakistan's consumer confidence indicator experienced a slight uptick, reaching 40.6 compared to 40.4 in March, the highest recorded since June 2024. This uplift reflects improvements in the perception of the current economic landscape, which rose to 41.3 from 40.3. Expectations around income also advanced, climbing to 53.8 from 52.3, and there was a modest rise in the perceived appropriateness of purchasing durable goods, improving to 36.0 from 35.1. However, predictions for future economic conditions saw a minor dip, falling from 40.5 to 39.9. Notably, apprehensions about unemployment over the coming six months diminished, decreasing from 70.2 to 69.4, while inflation expectations eased as well, dropping from 67.0 to 66.6. This decline was largely influenced by reduced anticipated inflation for food, which went down to 66.0 from 66.9, and for energy, which fell to 65.3 from 68.6.
