Romania experienced a moderation in annual producer inflation, which decreased to 3.32% year-on-year in March 2025, down from 4.03% in February. This deceleration is attributed primarily to more modest price increases in the sectors of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, where prices rose by 7.40% compared to 8.46% in the prior month, and manufacturing products, which saw an increase of 1.81% following the previous month's 2.37% rise. In contrast, there were continued price hikes in the water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities, with prices climbing to 11.08% from 9.99%. Additionally, costs in mining and quarrying experienced a rebound, moving from a slight decrease of 0.01% to a growth of 1.52%. On a month-over-month basis, producer prices declined by 2.41%, reversing the 3.56% increase observed in the previous period.
