Thailand's business confidence indicator fell to 47.1 in April 2025 from 50.2 in March, reaching its lowest point in six months. The reduction was attributed to a significant downturn across almost all key components, especially in business performance, which decreased to 46.6 from 54.5, and in production, which dropped to 47.3 from 54.2. This decline was mainly due to fewer working days and reduced demand. Export conditions also saw a considerable deterioration, declining to 48.7 from 54.1, amid growing concerns over reciprocal tariffs imposed by the U.S. Additionally, employment sentiment dipped to 48.2 from 49.1, reflecting hiring caution and decreased activity, while investment sentiment slightly declined to 52.1 from 52.5. Furthermore, overall orders fell to 49.3 from 51.2, indicating weakened domestic demand. Looking to the future, the three-month expected business sentiment index decreased to 48.9 in April from 50.7 in March, suggesting more cautious expectations ahead.
