Retail sales in Bosnia and Herzegovina experienced a year-on-year decrease of 1.4% in April 2025, marking the fourth consecutive month of decline. This downturn followed a 2.9% decrease in March. The decrease in retail sales was primarily driven by reductions in sales for food, beverages, and tobacco, which fell by 3.5% after a previous increase of 2.5% in March, and a 1.4% drop in non-food products, which had previously seen a 6.5% decrease. However, these declines were partially counterbalanced by a 1.7% rise in automotive fuel turnover, which had risen by 0.9% in the prior month. On a month-to-month basis, retail trade saw a robust increase of 3.3% in April, representing the strongest growth in five months, following stagnant growth in March.
