In May 2025, Hungary experienced a 2.6% year-on-year decrease in industrial production, following a more significant 5% decline in the previous month, according to preliminary estimates. Most manufacturing subsectors saw a reduction in production volume, particularly in electrical equipment and the food, beverages, and tobacco sectors. Conversely, there was an increase in output in the manufacture of vehicles and computers, electronics, and optical products. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity experienced a decline of 1.3% in May 2025, in contrast to a 1.5% increase observed in the prior month.
