The annual inflation rate in the Czech Republic increased to 2.9% in June 2025, up from 2.4% the previous month, according to preliminary estimates. This represents the highest rate recorded since December 2024, primarily due to rising expenses in the categories of food, alcohol, and tobacco, which saw a 5.5% increase compared to 4.8% in May. Goods experienced a rise of 1.6% compared to 0.9%, while services climbed to 5.0% from 4.9%. Conversely, energy costs continued to decline, falling by 5% as opposed to the sharper decrease of 6.2% observed previously.
