In June 2025, Denmark experienced a 1.4% year-on-year increase in retail sales, down from a 4% boost observed the previous month. This reflected the slowest growth rate since February's contraction. Contributing to this moderation were clothing sales, which rose by 0.4%, a significant decrease from May’s 6.1%, and other consumer goods, which grew by 5.2% compared to 6.8% in May. Moreover, sales of food and other groceries experienced a decline, dropping by 2.9% after a slight 0.3% rise in the previous month. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail activity decreased by 0.8% in June, a reversal from the 0.9% increase in the prior month, marking the first contraction since March.
