Sweden experienced a significant increase in its trade surplus in June 2025, reaching SEK 13.3 billion, up from SEK 7.6 billion during the same period the previous year. This improvement was largely due to a 3.5% rise in exports, totaling SEK 176.8 billion. The growth in exports was fueled by heightened sales to both EU countries, at 4.1%, and non-EU countries, at 2.8%. In contrast, imports saw a marginal increase of 0.1%, amounting to SEK 163.5 billion. Notably, imports from EU nations fell by 3.8%, while those from non-EU nations surged by 8.8%. When adjusted for seasonal variations, the trade surplus expanded to SEK 10.3 billion from SEK 9.7 billion in the previous month. Over the first half of the year, the trade surplus grew to SEK 62.9 billion, compared to SEK 55.3 billion in the same period of the prior year.
