The KOSPI index experienced a modest increase of 0.10%, reaching approximately 3,211 on Tuesday, marking the third consecutive day of gains. This rise is driven by South Korea's renewed diplomatic initiatives aimed at securing more advantageous trade terms. With only three days left until the deadline for possible US tariff impositions, Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan and Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo have made their way to Scotland to engage in high-level discussions with American officials. Prior to this, they had met with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick in Washington. Their visit aligns with President Donald Trump’s trip to Scotland for separate trade negotiations with the European Union, which forms part of a broader diplomatic effort to finalize tariff deals. Notable gains in the market were seen by Hanwha Aerospace (up 3.15%), LG Energy Solution (up 2.23%), and Shinhan Financial Group (up 1.34%), while SK Hynix (down 1.53%), Hyundai Motor (down 1.14%), and Samsung Electronics (down 0.99%) recorded declines.
