Lebanon Inflation Rate at 10-Month High of 16.4%

The inflation rate in Lebanon saw a notable increase, reaching 16.4% in October 2025, compared to 15.1% the month prior. This rise marks the highest inflation rate recorded since December 2024, primarily driven by substantial price surges in key sectors. Education experienced a significant hike, with prices rising from 30.6% in September to 76.8%. Additionally, the areas of recreation, amusement, and culture, as well as health, saw increases to 40.4% from 9.5%, and 5.0% from 4.9%, respectively.

Conversely, there was a deceleration in inflation rates for several categories. Food and non-alcoholic beverages witnessed a reduced inflation rate of 19.4%, down from 23.9%. Similarly, miscellaneous goods and services eased to 27.3% from 27.6%, housing and utilities moderated to 17.4% from 18.3%, and clothing and footwear decreased to 7.9% from 11%. Also witnessing a decrease were transportation (3.9% from 5.8%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (9.1% from 11.1%), furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance (0.8% from 1.2%), and restaurants and hotels (9.7% from 10.7%).

On a monthly scale, consumer prices surged by 3.2% in October, an increase from the 0.6% rise observed in September. This marks the most rapid monthly inflation rate since October 2023.
