FX.co ★ Norway Jobless Rate Falls to 4.5% in October

In October 2025, Norway experienced a dip in its seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, declining to 4.5%, the lowest observed in the past three months, down from 4.8% in September. This improvement reflects a reduction of 7,000 in the number of unemployed individuals, bringing the total to 138,000. Concurrently, the employment rate saw an increase to 69.8%, recovering from a substantial low of 69.0% noted over the past four years in the prior month. This uptick corresponds with a rise of 34,000 in the number of individuals employed, reaching a total of 2.915 million. Additionally, the labor force participation rate improved to 73.1% after hitting a six-month low of 72.5% in September. On the other hand, the youth unemployment rate, capturing the percentage of job-seekers aged 15 to 24, remained constant at 14.4%.
