South Africa's economy experienced a growth rate of 0.5% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter of 2025. This follows an adjusted advance of 0.9% in the preceding term and signifies the fourth successive quarter of expansion. Growth was observed in nine of the ten industries, with notable contributions from trade, which rose by 1%, mining, which increased by 2.3%, and finance, which grew by 0.3%. On an annual comparison, the GDP surged by 2.1% in the third quarter, the most robust performance since the third quarter of 2022, illustrating enhanced momentum compared to the previously revised 0.9%.
