In the third quarter of 2025, Angola's annual economic growth accelerated to 1.8%, improving from 1.1% in the previous quarter. This prior period marked the slowest expansion since the fourth quarter of 2024 when the GDP experienced a contraction. The recent upturn was primarily fueled by robust performance from the non-oil sector, which grew by 4.1%. Leading the charge was the information and communication sector, which skyrocketed by 55.67% compared to 38.1% in the second quarter, contributing 0.97 percentage points to the GDP growth. Noteworthy gains were also observed in other sectors: accommodation and food services grew by 13.6% (up from 8%), commerce by 3.3% (down from 6.5%), manufacturing by 13.0% (up from 5.2%), and diamond and metallic mineral extraction by 1.0% (down from 6.8%). In contrast, the oil sector experienced a contraction of 7.8%, largely due to a 10.7% decline in oil extraction, which accounts for 93.08% of the sector’s overall weight. On a quarterly basis, the GDP inched up by 0.05% in Q3, following a revised contraction of 0.08% in the previous period.
