In October 2025, Belgium saw a 0.5% decrease in construction output compared to the previous year, marking the first downturn in five months after a stagnant September. This decline was primarily due to a further reduction in civil engineering activities, which fell by 2.6% following a 2.0% decrease in September. Meanwhile, growth in specialized construction activities slowed, increasing by just 0.4% compared to 1.0% before. Conversely, the drop in building construction was less severe, easing to a 0.8% decline from a previous 2.2% fall. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction activity rose by 0.4% in October, recovering from a 1.2% decrease observed in the prior month.
