In December 2025, the annual inflation rate in North Macedonia experienced a slight increase to 4.1%, compared to 4% in the preceding month. This rise was influenced by higher prices in various sectors, including housing and utilities, which saw a 2% rise from November's 1.8%. Transport costs increased to 2.2% from 1.1%, while furniture, household equipment, and maintenance expenses climbed to 6.3% from 5.5%. The restaurant and hotel sector observed a marginal increase to 4.7% from 4.6%, and the prices for alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and narcotics rose to 5.4% from 5.3%. Health-related costs grew to 2.9% from 2.1%, and communication expenses rose to 2.2% from 1.8%.
Conversely, the inflation rate for food and non-alcoholic beverages slightly decreased to 5.3% from 5.4%, and clothing and footwear experienced a decline to 2.2% from 2.7%. Meanwhile, the rate for recreation and culture fell to 6.3% from 7.2%. The pricing for miscellaneous goods and services remained unchanged at 3.2%. On a monthly scale, consumer prices rose by 0.4% in December, following a 0.5% rise in November. Throughout 2025, the average inflation rate was maintained at 4.1%.
