FX.co ★ Greece Retail Sales Growth Slows in November

In November 2025, retail sales in Greece experienced a modest growth of 0.3% compared to the same period last year, marking a notable deceleration from the 4.4% gain observed in October. Fuel sales continued their decline for the second month in a row, decreasing by 7.2% following a 2.5% drop in the prior month. Sales in clothing and footwear also saw a contraction, dipping by 1.0% after a significant 9.6% rise in October. Additionally, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco decreased by 0.6%, reversing a previous month's growth of 0.2%. Several other categories showed moderated growth: pharmaceuticals and cosmetics slowed to 3.9% from 8.9%, books, stationery, and miscellaneous goods grew by 7.8% down from 12.3%, and furnishings recorded a slight deceleration to 9.5% from 9.7%. On a month-to-month comparison, retail sales decreased by 1.0%, overturning the 2.6% increase seen in October.
