The total credit extended to the Greek economy expanded by 5.5% year-on-year in December 2025, compared to a 5.0% increase in the prior month. Credit allocated to the private sector climbed to 7.9%, up from 7.2% in November. The net flow of financing to the private sector was positive, reaching €3,876 million, a significant rise from €1,303 million in November. Additionally, credit to the general government increased to 1.6% in December, slightly up from 1.4% the month before. The net flow of funds to the general government also remained positive, amounting to €756 million in December, compared to €524 million in the previous month.
