Consumer prices in Palestine fell 14.4% year-on-year in January 2026, moderating from a steep 42.9% decline in December and marking a fourth consecutive month of deflation. In contrast, prices rose in Jerusalem (2.95%) and the West Bank (1.75%).
Among major food items, notable increases were recorded for fresh vegetables (10.15%), fresh fruit (8.55%), potatoes and other tubers (8.12%), rice (4.9%), dried vegetables (3.2%), and bread (2.1%). Prices also climbed for imported cigarettes (15.7%) and gas (2.3%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices in Palestine rose 1.11% in January, rebounding from a 3.76% decline in the previous month.
