Australia’s seasonally adjusted Wage Price Index increased 3.4% year-on-year in Q4 2025, edging up from a marginally revised 3.3% rise in the previous quarter. The acceleration reflected broad-based gains, with private-sector wages advancing 3.4% (up from 3.3% in Q3) and public-sector pay growing 4.0% (from 3.9%).
On a quarterly basis, wages rose 0.8%, matching both the pace recorded in the prior quarter and market expectations.
In original terms, the strongest quarterly wage growth was recorded in information, media and telecommunications, at 1.2%. By contrast, administrative and support services and accommodation and food services posted the weakest quarterly gains, each at 0.3%.
Over the year, health care and social assistance recorded the fastest wage growth among all industries, at 4.4%, while financial and insurance services registered the slowest annual increase, at 2.7%.
