The Philippine economy showed a modest acceleration at the end of 2025, with quarter-over-quarter GDP growth rising to 0.6% in the fourth quarter from 0.3% in the third quarter of 2025. The latest figures, updated on 29 January 2026, indicate that economic activity strengthened slightly in the final months of the year.
On a quarter-over-quarter basis, the current 0.6% reading reflects an improvement in short-term momentum compared with the previous quarter’s 0.3% growth, which in turn was measured against the second quarter of 2025. The data suggest that while the expansion remains moderate, the Philippine economy closed 2025 on a firmer footing than in the middle of the year.
