According to data updated on 30 January 2026, the December figure reflects a comparison of money supply in December 2025 against the same month a year earlier. Similarly, November’s 3.9% reading compared money supply levels to November of the previous year.
The modest acceleration in monetary expansion at year-end may offer a signal of gradually improving liquidity conditions in the Malaysian economy, as policymakers and markets assess how money supply dynamics align with broader growth and inflation trends heading into 2026.
