Spain’s economy strengthened at the end of 2025, with gross domestic product (GDP) growth rising to 0.8% quarter-over-quarter in the fourth quarter, up from 0.6% in the third quarter of 2025. The latest data, updated on 30 January 2026, point to a modest acceleration in momentum as the year closed.
On a quarter-over-quarter basis, the “actual” figure for the fourth quarter compares the 0.8% expansion to the 0.6% growth recorded in the previous quarter. In turn, the earlier 0.6% reading for the third quarter reflected growth relative to the second quarter of 2025. The step-up in quarterly growth suggests that Spain entered 2026 with slightly firmer economic dynamics than in mid-2025.
