Gasoline inventories in the United States rose by just 0.223 million barrels, a sharp slowdown from the previous increase of 5.977 million barrels, according to data updated on 28 January 2026.
The latest figures indicate that stock builds have nearly stalled compared with the prior reading, suggesting a notable shift in the balance between gasoline supply and demand. While inventories are still rising, the marginal increase contrasts strongly with the earlier, much larger build.
