While the country continues to maintain a solid trade surplus, the slight month-on-month decline may reflect shifting global demand conditions, pricing dynamics in key export commodities, or firmer import activity. The December result suggests that Indonesia’s external sector remained a net positive contributor to the economy, but with less strength than in the previous month.
