Argentina’s industrial production contracted 3.9% year-on-year in December 2025, marking a significant easing in the sector’s downturn compared with the previous month. The latest data, updated on 6 February 2026, show that the annual decline slowed from a steep 8.7% drop recorded in November 2025.
The figures are based on year-over-year comparisons, measuring December’s output against the same month a year earlier. Similarly, November’s reading reflected the change versus November of the previous year. While industrial activity remains in negative territory, the smaller contraction in December suggests that the worst of the recent industrial slowdown may be abating, offering a tentative sign of stabilization for Argentina’s manufacturing sector.
