Canada’s consumer confidence weakened in February, as the Thomson Reuters IPSOS Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) declined on a month-over-month basis. The index fell to 47.46 in February 2026 from 49.28 in January 2026, according to data updated on 11 February 2026.
The February reading points to a softening in consumer sentiment compared with the previous month, when the index was higher. On a month-over-month basis, the “Actual” figure reflects this latest decline from January to February, while the “Previous” comparison captures the change recorded in January versus December. Together, these comparisons highlight a cooling trend in Canadian consumer confidence heading into early 2026.
