FX.co ★ FTSE 100 Little Changed on Thursday

The FTSE 100 was little changed on Thursday, pausing after hitting a record high and closing above 10,800 points for the first time in the previous session. WPP slumped more than 4% after reporting declines in both revenue and profit and announcing a 62% cut to its dividend. Mining stocks also weakened, with Fresnillo down nearly 3%, and Anglo American, Antofagasta, Glencore and Rio Tinto losing between 1.3% and 2%. HSBC slipped around 2%, retracing part of the 8% surge it posted a day earlier. By contrast, Rolls-Royce rose about 7% after surpassing annual expectations and unveiling a new share buyback programme, while London Stock Exchange Group advanced nearly 4% on plans to return £3 billion to shareholders. Elsewhere, Nvidia’s results prompted a muted market reaction despite the company issuing strong sales guidance.
