Net speculative positioning in the Australian dollar strengthened further, according to the latest data on CFTC AUD speculative net positions released on 27 March 2026.
The net long position in AUD futures and options rose to 70.9K contracts, up from the previous 69.1K. The increase signals that traders and investors have marginally boosted their bullish exposure to the Australian currency compared with the prior reading, underscoring a continued positive stance rather than any sharp repositioning.
While the move is incremental, the rise in net longs suggests that speculative market participants remain inclined toward the Australian dollar, with positioning tilting slightly further in favor of additional AUD strength or resilience in the near term.
