Armenia’s annual inflation rate accelerated for the fourth consecutive month, reaching 4.5% in March 2026, up from 4.3% in February and marking the highest level since March 2023. Price growth picked up for food and non-alcoholic beverages (7.8% vs 6.5%), clothing and footwear (1% vs 0.6%), restaurants and hotels (4.3% vs 4%), and communication (0.7% vs 0.3%). Furnishing and household equipment prices also rebounded (0.6% vs -0.1%).
By contrast, inflation slowed for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (6.8% vs 10.3%), miscellaneous goods and services (2.4% vs 2.6%), and transport (2.1% vs 3.6%), while it remained unchanged for health (4.5%) and education (8.3%). Prices declined in housing and utilities (-0.3% vs 0.5%) and in recreation and culture (-0.7% vs -0.4%). On a monthly basis, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.7%.
