Namibia’s consumer price pressures intensified in April 2026, with the country’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising 1.10% month-over-month, up sharply from a 0.20% increase in March 2026. The latest data, updated on 12 May 2026, points to a noticeable acceleration in short-term inflation momentum.
On a month-over-month basis, the April reading shows that prices grew more than five times faster than in the previous month. The “Actual” figure of 1.10% reflects the change in prices from March to April 2026, compared with the “Previous” 0.20% change recorded from February to March 2026.
The step-up in CPI growth suggests that inflationary pressures are building over the near term, a development that will be closely watched by policymakers, businesses and consumers as they assess the potential impact on purchasing power, wage negotiations and monetary policy expectations in the months ahead.
