The Czech unemployment rate edged down to 4.9% in April 2026 from 5.0% in March, slightly above market expectations of 4.8%. The decline was supported by ongoing seasonal hiring and a continuing economic recovery, pushing the jobless rate to its lowest level since December 2025. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 7,866 month-on-month to 364,472, though this remained 45,932 higher than in the same month a year earlier. At the same time, the number of registered job vacancies increased by 2,938 from the previous month, reaching 94,483.
