In corporate news, Oracle shares tumbled more than 10% in after-hours trading after the company announced plans to raise an additional $20 billion through a mix of equity and debt offerings to fund its artificial intelligence expansion.
During Wednesday’s regular session, the Dow fell 1.87%, the S&P 500 dropped 1.62%, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 1.98%. Eight of the 11 S&P sectors ended in the red, led by losses in industrials, materials, and technology. Tech and semiconductor stocks came under renewed selling pressure amid persistent concerns over stretched AI-related valuations and increased investor caution ahead of SpaceX’s closely watched IPO on Friday.
