Slovakia’s EU-normalised consumer price inflation cooled in May 2026, with the month-on-month rate easing to 0.40% from 0.50% in April, according to data updated on 17 June 2026. The indicator, based on the EU-harmonised methodology, shows a continued moderation in price growth compared with the previous month.
The May reading means that while prices are still rising on a monthly basis, the pace of increase has slowed for a second consecutive month. In April 2026, the 0.50% rise reflected the comparison with March, whereas May’s 0.40% figure measures the change in prices relative to April. This deceleration may be seen as a tentative sign of easing short-term inflationary pressures in the Slovak economy within the broader EU framework.
