The Ibovespa advanced 0.6% to close at 172,788 on Thursday, supported by the release of the US payroll report— the Federal Reserve’s key indicator of labor market conditions— which came in significantly weaker than expected. The softer job creation data reduced the probability of additional Fed rate hikes in the coming months, improving global risk appetite.
At the same time, oil prices retreated as shipping flows through the Strait of Hormuz continued to normalize, bolstering expectations of increased supply. This development further eased concerns about energy-driven inflation and reinforced bets on a more dovish stance from major central banks.
Financial stocks led the gains on the B3, with Bradesco climbing 0.7% and Banco do Brasil advancing 1.4%. Other standout performers included Rede D'Or and Embraer, each rising 1.5%.
