The annual inflation rate in the Czech Republic slowed to 1.5% in June 2026, down from 2.1% in May and slightly below market expectations of 1.9%, according to preliminary estimates. This was the lowest rate since February. The moderation was driven mainly by a deeper decline in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-3.4% vs -1.9% in May), as well as a shift in energy prices, which fell by 1.0% after rising 1.8% previously. Goods prices also moved into negative territory (-0.4% vs +0.6%).
Services inflation eased modestly to 4.5% from 4.7%, while price growth for alcoholic beverages and tobacco accelerated to 4.3% from 3.7%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.3% in June, reversing a 0.1% increase in May and undershooting market expectations for a flat reading.
