FX.co ★ Moldova Producer Prices Fall for Second Month

Producer prices in Moldova declined by 0.4% year-on-year in June 2026, after a 0.1% decrease in May. This was the second consecutive month of contraction and the weakest reading since December 2024. Price growth in the manufacturing sector slowed to 0.6% from 0.9% in May, reflecting more moderate increases in the prices of food products (1.9% vs 2.2%), beverages (1.7% vs 1.8%), rubber and plastic products (0.7% vs 3.4%), and furniture (0.5% vs 0.6%). Meanwhile, prices for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply fell by 12.8%, unchanged from the pace seen in the previous two months. By contrast, costs in mining and quarrying rose by 6.8%, slightly above the 6.5% increase in May. On a monthly basis, producer prices edged up 0.1% in June, slowing from a 0.4% rise in each of the preceding two months.
