The S&P Global Eurozone Manufacturing PMI rose to 52.0 in July 2026 from 51.4 in June, beating market expectations of 51.5, according to preliminary data. This was the strongest expansion in three months, driven by a sharper rise in production: the manufacturing output index increased to 53.0 from 51.7, its fastest pace since March 2022.
Purchasing activity was broadly stable, while easing supply-chain disruptions enabled firms to raise input inventories for the first time in three and a half years. At the same time, manufacturers continued to reduce staffing levels.
On the cost side, input price inflation slowed in July, and output price inflation also eased, though overall cost pressures remained elevated. Looking ahead, manufacturers’ expectations for future output improved slightly.
